Juvederm®, Galderma®, RHA®, Radiesse® and Belotero®

My job is to help you look and feel like the very best version of yourself. While you may gain wisdom and patience with age, you can also lose some volume in the tissues of your face, hands, lips, and neck. This may result, for example, in deeper etched lines that are resistant to wrinkle relaxers, thin lips, and prominent veins on the back of the hands.

Restoring a bit of volume to these areas with dermal fillers is a fast, extremely effective way to rejuvenate your appearance.

Fillers FAQs

How can dermal fillers help me?

Dermal fillers are typically made from Hyaluronic Acid, and when properly placed they replace lost volume. As we age, we lose hormones, and fat pads in our face.  We also lose bone in our face as well, so it causes laxity of skin and a flattening of our face.  Dermal fillers, when placed by an injector with facial anatomy knowledge, and ideally, who uses a vein-finder to avoid bruising or complications, fillers can look incredibly natural and restore lost volume.

However, the results gained with dermal fillers, like Juvederm®, Radiesse ® Belotero® RHA® are temporary. Eventually, the body will absorb the filler, and the wrinkle or crease will reappear, or the cheeks will lose volume. You should think of facial fillers as an ongoing maintenance project.

What are the categories of facial fillers?

  • Hyaluronic Acid (HA) Fillers: Many brands and options like Juvéderm®, Restylane®, RHA®, Belotero®
  • Calcium Hydroxyapatite Fillers: Radiesse®
  • Polylactic Acid Fillers: Sculptra®

All facial fillers provide different benefits and target areas and fillers do require a consultation prior to your treatment to determine which is best for you.

Types of dermal fillers?

  • Belotero®
  • Juvéderm®
  • Restylane®
  • Radiesse®
  • RHA®

Belotero ® Juvederm®, Restylane® Radiesse® and RHA® dermal fillers are hyaluronic acid fillers. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in the body (in fact, it can be found in almost every living thing) that is responsible for skin hydration and support. Hyaluronic acid attracts and binds to water molecules to add volume where injected, and because it is a naturally occurring substance, it is compatible with the body. Different hyaluronic acid fillers have different thicknesses, making some better for adding volume in specific areas. HA fillers can be dissolved. Radiesse® is a calcium-based filler Hydroxyapatite and is often used as a bio-stimulator as well.  Radiesse® cannot be dissolved.

What are dermal fillers and how do they work?

Dermal fillers are injectable treatments offered at Medical Spa and Wellness by Michelle NP, in Holladay, Utah.  They use substances like hyaluronic acid, calcium hydroxyapatite, and more to restore lost facial or hand volume, smooth wrinkles, and improve contours. These fillers add a youthful fullness to the skin and stimulate collagen production for long-term benefits. When injected by an experienced injector, they look very natural and youthful.  Michelle uses a vein-finder to reduce any risk of bruising or complications.

Which areas can be treated with dermal fillers?

Michelle APRN, FNP-C is an experienced, properly licensed, and trained injector and she can administer dermal fillers to areas such as the cheeks, lips, nasolabial folds, marionette lines, under-eye hollows, jawline, and hand rejuvenation, among others.

How long do dermal filler results last?

The duration of dermal filler results varies based on the type of filler used, the amount of filler placed, and the treated area. Typically, hyaluronic acid fillers last around 6 to 18 months, while other options may offer longer-lasting effects.

What is the recovery process after dermal filler?

Recovery is usually brief, allowing you to resume normal activities soon after the procedure. While some temporary bruising, redness, and swelling may occur, they typically resolve within a few days. It’s advisable to avoid intense exercise, alcohol, and excessive sun exposure or heat for a short period. At Medical Spa and Wellness by Michelle NP, Michelle uses vein finder equipment to help minimize bruising and complications.

Can dermal fillers be reversed?

Yes, if necessary, Michelle can use Hylenex or Hyaluronidase to partially, mostly, or fully reverse hyaluronic acid fillers. This enzyme helps break down the filler for adjustments or complete reversal.

Are dermal fillers suitable for men and women?

Absolutely. I welcome both men and women at Medical Spa and Wellness by Michelle NP, In the Holladay and Salt Lake City areas who are looking to enhance their appearance or address specific cosmetic concerns with dermal fillers.
