Collagen-stimulating fillers, including Sculptra and Radiesse, work by encouraging the body’s natural collagen production. These fillers contain microspheres of calcium hydroxylapatite or poly-L-lactic acid, which provide an immediate volumizing effect. Over time, these substances stimulate fibroblasts to produce new collagen, gradually improving skin texture, elasticity, and firmness. PRP/PRF and EZ Gel
PRP/PRF and EZ GEL, or is the perfect solution to stimulate cell growth within the body. These are considered bio-stimulator treatments, where I draw your own blood, spin it, possibly heat or cool it, and then use it for treatment. The amazing benefits of PRP and PRF and EZ GEL are that it is made from your own growth factors, stem cells and are 100% your own body. They can be used to stimulate hair growth, diminish the appearance of scarring, encourage the body’s production of collagen, and much more. PRF and EZ GEL Platelet Rich Fibrinogen is one of the most natural ways to induce collagen. You can use PRF in either an injection or with microneedling. Platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) is second-generation PRP platelets, and your own body’s growth factors and stem cells are present to accelerate the healing of soft and hard tissue. What is Sculptra®?
Sculptra® is an FDA-approved injectable that gradually replaces lost collagen, restoring volume while tightening and thickening the skin. View the Sculptra® website. Sculptra® is not like a typical Hyaluronic acid filler that immediately gives you volume and visible results right away. With Sculptra®, you will see a natural filling effect due to the volume that was injected, followed by an absorption, or loss of the new volume within a couple of days. At this point, your body will slowly start to produce its own collagen, re-establishing volume, resulting in lift, tightening, restored volume, and a beautiful texture and glow.
How do biostimulators work?
Biostimulators work by activating the skin’s fibroblasts, the cells responsible for collagen production. This stimulation leads to the gradual regeneration of collagen fibers, which can improve skin elasticity, reduce wrinkles, and enhance overall skin quality.
How does Sculptra® work?
As explained on the Sculptra® website “Sculptra Aesthetic” is made with biocompatible, biodegradable, synthetic material called Poly-L-Lactic Acid, which is gradually and naturally absorbed by the body to help rebuild lost collagen through a series of treatments administered by a trained specialist. The specialist injects within the deep dermis, where strands of collagen support your skin’s structure. Over time, Sculptra Aesthetic helps the body replace lost collagen. On average, three injection appointments are needed, where 1-2 vials are used per appointment depending on your age and laxity of skin.
When will I see the results from Sculptra®?
Noticeable results are usually visible within 3-4 months when optimally treated.
How long do results last?
Results last 2-3 years.
How many treatments will I need?
The number of treatments will vary from person to person. Typically, it is recommended 1 vial per decade of years lived. If 40 years old, you would typically require 4 vials of Sculptra, 2 vials per visit is preferred. This can vary greatly. On average, people require 2-3 treatment appointments, which are done 4-6 weeks apart.
Will I bruise or swell?
At Medical Spa and Wellness by Michelle NP, I use a vein finder to minimize bruising, however swelling and bruising is always possible. Always plan 2 weeks ahead for any event.
